Dubai already has many world records such as the tallest building, the largest shopping mall, the largest fountain, the tallest hotel, the tallest outdoor observation deck and the longest elevator in the world.

Now, this tourist hotspot in the United Arab Emirates will soon become the location of the first water resort.

The new Kempinski Water Palace will open in 2023, next to one of Dubai’s most unique beaches on Jumeirah Beach Road. The resort consists of a main floating building with 156 rooms and suites. The building is surrounded by 12 unique villas, which can not only float, but also move to other anchorages like a houseboat.

In addition to accommodation, the main building of the five-star Kempinski Aqua Palace also offers unique gourmet restaurants and bars, a spa and multiple swimming pools, boutiques and banquet areas for events. The building consists of four parts, with a glass pyramid in the middle connecting them. The design allows even larger yachts to pass directly through its center. Since the most discerning luxury travelers are expected to check in when the resort opens, there is also a floating helipad and parking lot for up to 16 yachts next to the main building.

As for the 12 luxury villas, they are connected by a pontoon, some of which are currently on sale, while others are reserved for hotel guests. Each two-story villa has large panoramic windows, a roof terrace and an infinity pool, as well as indoor and outdoor living rooms. These floating houseboats offer two, three or four rooms and provide additional villa accommodation for crew and staff. They are also equipped with smart home technology and are designed to be environmentally friendly due to features such as solar panels.

Bernold Schroeder, CEO of Kempinski Group, said: “We are very pleased to be able to provide guests in Dubai with this first experience from 2023. European elegance is combined," in a statement issued to Travel + Leisure. "The highly innovative projects of Seagate Shipyard are not only convincing with their high-end technology, but also with impeccable style and design."
