A Fountain Hill man was charged for killing a 20-year-old man in a gun sale in a convenience store parking lot in a borough on Thursday night.

According to court records, 23-year-old Jarrett Hunter Hein was charged with criminal homicide and is currently being held in Lehigh County Jail without bail.

According to a press release from District Attorney Jim Martin and Chief of Police Edward Bacht, at approximately 7:03 pm, the borough police received a 911 call in the 1400 block of Broadway, stating that someone was injured.

Officials said they found Travorious Gudger in Apalachicola, Florida, in the rear parking area close to the street. Gudger was hit several times and died on the spot. He was pronounced dead by Gabriel Riley, the deputy coroner of Lehigh County at 8:26 pm, and his death was ruled as homicide.

Near Gudger's body, the police found an unloaded .357 magnum revolver.

According to the press release, Hein is also nearby. He has a 9mm Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol with seven live ammunition in the magazine, one in the ground chamber.

According to the press release, Hein and Gu Jie met in the Wawa parking lot because the former was selling his .357 pistol. The two talked online for more than a week before they decided to meet, because Gu Jie said he wanted to check the pistol.

Officials said that Hein arrived first. When Gu Jie approached Hein's car, Hein showed him the pistol, and Gu Jie ran away with the weapon.

Court records show that Hein told the police that the gun was not loaded. He chased Gu Jie and told him to put it down several times.

Then, Hein took a 9mm semi-automatic Sig Sauer pistol from the holster around his waist and fired a bullet into the barrel. He told the police that he fired multiple shots at Gu Jie while running, and then called 911 to report the shooting.

According to court records, Hein told the police that he shot Gu Jie from behind, watched him fall, and then called his mother and emergency dispatcher.
