Petkit Eversweet 3 Review: A smart waterer for pets

When my family only had me and my grey tabby cat Charlie, she (well, I really) only needed a basic water bowl and food bowl. But after adopting my black and white tuxedo kitten Katniss, our daily lives have completely changed. I had to worry about Charlie stealing food from her sister, and I had to give her a separate water bowl because she didn't like Katniss' hair falling into the water. But they have shared Petkit's Eversweet 3 smart pet waterer for about two months, even if they haven't used it at the same time. My cat is slowly becoming the most spoiled high-tech pet nearby.

I believe that many pet owners can prove that they often look for better water bowl solutions to solve any problems they currently have. There are many plastic automatic fountains on the market, but many of them have problems: too much noise, black charcoal particles seep into the water, or it is troublesome to clean. The Eversweet 3 fountain not only solves all these problems, but its unique design also allows Katniss's hair to get out of the water. I only need to fill it up once a week.

The micromotor at the bottom of the Eversweet 3 fountain does not send water into a reservoir in a bowl, but pushes it up onto a flat plate. It overflows into a metal basin that filters the water back to the reservoir and captures all cat hair. (Don't worry, a quick rinse under the faucet can remove all hair sticking to the filter.) The fountain has two modes, "Regular" and "Smart". The smart mode is the best way to help get rid of the pet's hair in the water.

The entire reservoir, pool, etc. are lifted from a single board to provide power for the motor. You can run Eversweet 3 with 5 AAA batteries, and the battery life ranges from one to two weeks. However, if you want the water to flow continuously, then the fountain should be powered from your outlet. (Battery power will only activate the pump for a few seconds every few minutes.) A USB cable is included, but you need to get a USB wall plug.

Did I mention that this incident is deadly? You can't hear the pump at all, only the water swaying around the top disc-although more often it is actually one of my cats drinking water from the fountain. You fill it up, insert it, and that's it. It just does its thing. (The buzzing sound you will hear in the video below is a combination of my PC and refrigerator.)

In the "smart" part of Petkit's Eversweet 3 smart pet waterer, in addition to the button to switch between the two modes, there are some notifications. Several small LEDs on the side of the bottom panel will tell you when the water tank is empty, when the filter needs to be replaced, when the battery is exhausted or depleted, and when the fountain is running on AC power. This is a super easy to understand system.

When you need to refill the water tank, you just need to remove it from the base, remove the basin, fill it with water, and put everything back in place. This is a smoother process, for example, filling a traditional fountain with a jug or glass, or ensuring that when you try to fill a fountain in a kitchen sink, the connected power cord will not get in the way. As I mentioned before, it can hold enough water for two cats to use for a week.

Eversweet 3 may seem a bit expensive (currently $60 on Amazon), but when you compare it with other plastic fountains, such as the $70 PetSafe Drinkwell or even the $100 Drinkwell 360 stainless steel fountain, you will get more Function and better design, 30-40 dollars less. In addition, the water tank of Eversweet 3 is stainless steel, which allows your pet to keep cool water for several days. It only costs $20 to replace the 5x filter pack, and the filter can be used for several months. This is a purrrrrrchase that I do not regret. However, I might regret the puns.
